Clopay Canyon Ridge® Collection faux wood carriage house style garage doors are one of the many unique architectural details featured on the New Southern Home, the official show home of the 2013 Southeast Building Conference (SEBC).

Built by NWC Construction in Belle Isle, Florida, the home's modest, two-story Vernacular style design was created by David Pillsbury and the expert team at Keesee and Associates, Inc. The architecture was inspired by the Seaside Chapel in the Florida Panhandle, one of the most photographed buildings in the entire state.

"Our focus for the New Southern Home is green construction and universal design, two ideals that truly serve the modern family," says NWC Construction president Nathan Cross. "In addition to showcasing the latest innovations in design, luxury and technology, NWC used cutting-edge green building products and practices to maximize indoor air quality, water conservation, energy efficiency and sustainability so that the home will be easy and affordable to maintain."

The home was constructed with recycled fly ash concrete, engineered recycled wood framing, recycled finger joint and pressboard trim. It is tightly sealed with whole house primary and secondary moisture protection and highly efficient R-20 spray foam insulation. It's equipped with Andersen 100 series windows with recycled composite frames, central vacuum system, low-maintenance energy efficient Clopay faux wood garage doors with a 20.4 R-value, garage exhaust fans, 16 SEER dual zone A/C, Energy Star® appliances and lighting and low flow toilets and fixtures that meet or exceed EPA water conservation standards.

The New Southern Home is slated for the following green certifications, performed by Drew Smith of Two Trails:

About the Garage Doors

Clopay's Canyon Ridge Collection garage doors featuring Intellicore® fit perfectly with the home's coastal farmhouse style and eco-friendly design. Made of a durable composite material that looks like real wood, the surface won't rot, warp, shrink or crack significantly reducing long-term maintenance costs.

The durable 5-layer doors feature energy efficient two-inch thick insulated steel core and are reinforced with Clopay's built-in WindCode® system. The builder selected a factory stained Mahogany cladding and overlays in Design 12 with Top 11.
