Residential garage door manufacturer Clopay is expanding its line of faux wood carriage house garage doors, combining two of the company’s most popular styles into a new, energy efficient, low-maintenance, economically priced line called the Canyon Ridge Collection Ultra-Grain Series.

The Canyon Ridge Collection Ultra-Grain Series features a polyurethane insulated steel base door with the company’s innovative Ultra-Grain simulated stained woodgrain paint finish. Composite overlays molded from actual pieces of Clear Cypress wood are attached to the door surface to create the carriage house designs.

Unlike natural material, this faux wood door is moisture resistant, so it won’t rot, warp, split, shrink, separate, or crack.

"The ½”-thick cladding overlay material replicates with uncanny realism the natural texture and intricate grain patterns of the Clear Cypress pieces it is molded from," says Pat Lohse, vice president of residential marketing for Clopay. "Once installed, it’s virtually indistinguishable from the real thing"

The Ultra-Grain steel paint finish has a horizontal grain pattern to complement the overlays.

The Canyon Ridge Collection Ultra-Grain Series is available in fourteen panel designs with a choice of windows or solid top sections in two finish colors: Walnut and Medium. Optional decorative hardware can be added to enhance the character of the doors.

Two-inch thick polyurethane insulation foam injected between the door's two steel skins with a thermal break provide an 18.4 R-value for year round comfort and energy efficiency. It also adds strength and rigidity to the door panels to help resist dents and reduce noise. Insulated windows are also offered.
