Telephonics’ Mobile Surveillance Capability Receives Platinum Award for Best Integrated Perimeter Protection System at the 2013 Border Security Awards

3/13/2013 - Telephonics Corporation (Telephonics), a wholly owned subsidiary of Griffon Corporation (NYSE:GFF), announced today that its Mobile Surveillance Capability (MSC) was named the Platinum Winner in the Best Integrated Perimeter Protection System category at the Annual Border Security Awards Competition by Government Security News.

The MSC truck is currently on display at the Border Security Expo in Phoenix, AZ. It was assessed for this award based on the successful integration and demonstration of multiple sensors using intuitive, user-friendly mission control and monitoring software. The integrated sensor suite includes a long-range ground moving target indicator radar, day and night cameras, laser range-finder, and other operational and self-protection sensors. The Telephonics system was selected because it affords border agents with an unprecedented surveillance capability for large areas providing detection, tracking, and identification of items of interest at safe distances during the day, at night, and in adverse weather, in one easy to set up and deployable vehicle.

“Telephonics is honored to be chosen for this award,” said Mr. Kevin McSweeney, Chief Operating Officer of Telephonics Corporation. “We view this as affirmation that we are delivering the very best capabilities for our Border Agents who have the difficult and dangerous job of securing our nation’s borders. We are proud that the hard work and dedication of our entire organization has delivered the best possible solution.”
